Many of you have had the privilege of meeting Maria Bohan, our formidable board Chair and long-time Timor-Leste supporter.

Maria will be taking Family Leave from the board Chair position until August 2020, but will remain a general board member. The board would like to acknowledge and thank Maria for her steadfast leadership of Alola Australia. Maria’s passion and commitment to Alola Australia has been a key driver in increasing our fundraising revenue for Fundusaun Alola and building our supporter base in Australia. We look forward to welcoming Maria back to Chair role later in the year.

Helen Skinner has stepped up to the role interim Board Chair and Jacky Mandelbaum will act as Deputy Board Chair.

This change in our board has encouraged the Alola Australia team to re-assess our focus for 2020. We will be hosting less in-person events, however we’ll be much more active in our digital communications. We look forward to connecting with you all throughout the year.
